Day 40: statues at temple Unpenji displayed strong facial expressions

To reach T66 Unpenji, you need to climb up more than 800 meters. I took the ropeway. Despite of that, I still walked 23 km (total: 890 km). Altitude for me 50 m. Temperature height 25 degrees, in the mountains mostly misty and cloudy.

Unpenji is again a nicely located temple where the autumn  colors of the trees are already very pronounced.

But most interesting are the many statues which you can see there. All have very pronounced facial expressions.

Ropeway up to the temple Unpenji (T66), I was happy that I had not to walk this way up

I alway like to view from high up over the mountains in the distance and look at the different shades of grey they are displaying

This is the hotel where I am staying tonight in Kanonji (built in the 70ties?)
