Day 14: keep on walking
Not all roads I walk on are interesting. Some are boringly monotonous. Some are loud and dangerous as the afore mentioned Route 55, which in many parts does not even have protected pedestrian walkways. This morning however I could walk many km along the seaside, which was nice.

The morning started good with a nice view out of my hotel room. The air was still fresh and relatively cool. Later it got hot again and the temperature reached 26 degrees Celsius. If there would not have been the cooling wind from the seaside, the day could have gotten nasty again.
I finished my walk as proposed in the route guide book at Noichi station and took a train right into the center of Kochi. Hotel Clement is strategically located at the station, so that I can return tomorrow morning to Noichi to continue the Henro trail to Dainichiji temple (T28). I can walk the next 2 days without my backpack (which I will leave in the hotel). So, relaxing days, in particular for my shoulders, are in front of me!
Data: today I walked 20 km (total: 278 km), so about one quarter of the whole tour has been completed.
You may wonder, why I always note the altitude, which I measure with my Smartwatch. I have read, that the total altitude you have to master for the whole Henro walk is about 10.000 m. (about the same as for our famous German Rheinsteig). I do not believe the number because there are constantly ups and downs (besides the challenging inclines and “Henro Korogashis”, and therefore I want to do my own rough personal measurement. Today I noted 200 m altitude.
