Day 17: eating Udon Noodles with a Japanese and Canadian Henro walker

I  started at Sekkeji temple (T33) this morning at 8:00 a.m. and aimed to walk until Usa Town. So I had a 30 km walk in front of me.

Reaching T35 (Kyotakiji) required again to walk on a steep uphill path. I think, the temples which are difficult to reach, are usually the most interesting ones.

At the temple I met the Japanese Henro pilgrim, with whom I walked yesterday. A Canadian joined and we hiked together for a while. We had a superb Udon noodle lunch together.

The Canadian was a walking maniac, and walked many miles in in life on different trails. Being 72 years old he needed a special "leg support prothesis"

My learning of the day: if you want to interact with others, it is always possible, even if there are no common grounds in the language.

Today I stayed at Sanyo-so Hotspring Hotel, which is recommendable.

The distance I walked today was slightly less than planned (following the advice of our Japanese co-walker) at 25 km (total: 353 km). Altitude: 200 m. Temperature 24 degrees Celcius, hot when walking without shadow.
