Day 9: from Mugi to the surfer spot Ikumi

According to strong advise form Kenji-san, I changed my original plan and avoided to walk many miles on Route 55, which in fact is no real fun as I could see from a bus. There is a lot of traffic with many trucks and no secured pedestrian walkway.

Thus I walked only 10 km (total: now 180 km) and enjoyed the beach in Ikumi, which is a nice little surfer spot. The waves are currently not very high, but people out in the water have fun.

My room tonight

Sleeping on a tatami mattress is not an issue for me. And I did it already for some nights. However I have issues with my back, if I can not sit on a chair or alternatively lean against the wall, if I want to do something (e.g. rearranging my stuff in the backpack).
